41. Counting Crows: 'Big Yellow Taxi' (2003) – The umpteenth cover of the classic Joni Mitchell song and easily the worst of the lot. An absolutely pointless, unimaginative cover featuring awful “shoop-bob-bob”, “sha-la-la-la” squeaky backing vocals from Vanessa Carlton, like many songs on this list it achieved astonishing commercial success.
