James Allan, frontman of Glasvegas, has been traced to New York after reportedly going missing for five days.
Allan sparked concern when he failed to appear with the rest of the band at the Mercury Prize in London last night.
Although his record label said the singer had a “fever”, members of Glasvegas were quoted as telling journalists that he had not been seen since last Friday.
However, in an interview with The Independent today, the band's manager Dean Cunning said: "James is not missing, he’s in New York.
"He got in touch with me yesterday at about 1.45pm to tell me he was OK because he knew people were worried, but to be honest I’ve been just as much in the dark about this as anybody - the last time I saw James was at the gig in Cardiff.
“I don’t even know exactly when he went missing."
Allan's bandmates are due to fly to America today before embarking on a nationwide tour of the country with Kings of Leon.
When asked whether the singer would be joining the band at the shows, Cunning replied: "I fucking hope so."
Glasvegas' debut album lost out to London rapper Speech Debelle at the Mercury Prize awards ceremony.
