Muse's brand new single 'Dead Inside', from upcoming seventh album Drones, is set to premiere today (Monday 23 March, 2015)
- UPDATE: The track has now been unveiled - check it out here.
The returning space-rock heroes, who recently dropped new track 'Psycho' (to a delighted reaction from fans), have been touring to launch the album with a run of intimate UK shows - airing new material and also performing Showbiz classic 'Muscle Museum' for the first time in eight years at their Exeter homecoming gig this weekend.
Now, the band are set to air the first proper single from and opener to the album, 'Dead Inside' - on the band's Youtube channel.
"This is where the story of the album begins, where the protagonist loses hope and becomes 'Dead Inside', therefore vulnerable to the dark forces introduced in 'Psycho' and which ensue over the next few songs on the album, before eventually defecting, revolting and overcoming these dark forces later in the story," said frontman Matt Bellamy of the track.
Judging by the title, the material we've heard so far, and the band's words on the album being a much 'heavier' and 'back to basics' affair, fans and critics are expecting another huge rocker to send expectations for Drones into the stratosphere (not to mention what's sure to be an insane headline slot at Download).
