Noel Gallagher has declared that he would write a James Bond theme 'in a heartbeat' - if anyone would actually ask him.
Gallagher told Germany's N-TV: "I would do it if I was asked. I would do it in a heartbeat," he said. "And I could do it and it would be great, but I'm not a star and for that you have to be a big star. You have to be someone in America."
This is not the first time Gallagher has been linked to the role. He had to deny rumours ahead of filming Skyfall that he would be writing the theme.
"I don't know where you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by '007 bosses!'" Gallagher wrote on his website before dismissing a report from a "source" he had a meeting with Michael G Wilson. "Who is this fucking source? Has he been on the sauce'? Bizarre indeed."

Sam Smith is currently favourite to perform the soundtrack, following in the recenty footsteps of Adele, Jack White and Chris Cornell (whose 'You Know My Name' proves Bond songs are harder to write than you think). Spectre will be released on 7 November.
Despite recently announcing "It doesn't look like I'm playing Glastonbury" Gallagher is still among the rumoured acts to top the bill at the festival this year. He is also headlining London's Calling Festival and will appear at T In The Park.
He is also playing a huge homecoming show this summer at Manchester's Summer In The City. Taking place at Manchester's legendary Castlefield Bowl, also confirmed are Paolo Nutini, The Charlatans and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott.
