XFM have announced that Russell Brand will be returning to the station after a two year hiatus, with an evening show kicking off this Sunday (15 March).
The controversial comedian and actor last appeared on the station in 2013 for a charity special, when he was joined by famous Noels, Gallagher and Fielding. XFM is where Brand's career really took off, with his first radio show airing in 2002, before he would later move to BBC 6 Music.
Now, he's back again with own regular show - with the first being aired on Sunday from 9-10pm, with a slot that "will feature opinions and general humour, all in typical Russell Brand style".
XFM managing editor, Chris Baughen said: “Having Russell return to XFM is great news and something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time. For me, radio is where he does his best work and along with many XFM and Russell Brand fans, I can’t wait to hear what he’s got in store!”
Brand will be joined by former broadcasting sidekick Matt Morgan, and will feature content from his audio-Boom podcasts.
Since leaving XFM, he has become a famed Youtube star for tackling political and social issues (there was also that incident with Andrew Sachs' granddaughter, the fun of 'PARKLIFE' and his Hollywood career, but you know about that).
