El-P has previewed the first clips of the Meow The Jewels project. Listen to audio clips below.
The record, which started out as a joke, was funded quickly through a $40,000 Kickstarter project and now has Zola Jesus, Just Blaze and Portishead's Geoff Barrow attached to mention just a few. So to say things escalated quickly is a bit of an understatement.
The album will use only cat noises, inlcuding samples from celebrity cat Lil Bub. Clearly it's making El-P lose his mind piece by piece, as he asked: “oh my god what am I doing with my life.” Got to respect a musician who suffers for their art...
