It certainly looks like there's a clear favourite this year, with Bombay Bicycle Club, Chvrches, Metronomy, Klaxons, Wolf Alice and pretty much everyone else tipping FKA Twigs.

However, other honourable mentions went to excellent albums by the likes of The Horrors, Jungle, Childhood, Daniel Avery, Royal Blood, Chvrches, East India Youth, Eagulls, Wild Beasts and Sleaford Mods.

There were also a couple of brilliant curveballs, with Drenge speaking out for Robbie Williams and Peace tipping Ed Sheeran.

The 2014 Mercury Music Prize nominations will be revealed on the evening of Wednesday 10 September. Check back at Gigwise for the latest news, interviews and more from the Mercury Prize.
