Billy Joel has always been an original kind of guy, still he might of chosen a more reliable method of doing himself in rather then drinking a load of furniture polish…nasty.

Joel was so tormented by an affair he was having with his drummer’ wife that he attempted to take his own life…it obviously didn’t work out.

The drummer whose wife he was doing at the time, Jon Small, saved his life by rushing him to hospital where he was later transferred to a psychiatric ward.

Mrs Small is rumoured have inspired Joel’s hit ‘She’s Always A Woman’, he later married the woman in question…proving that some suicide stories do have a happy ending, sob.
