Tickets for Kate Bush's first live dates in 35 years are being offered on resale websites for as much as £1,500 after selling out in minutes.
The singer is returning to the stage to perform 22 dates at London's Hammersmith Apollo in Autumn, and tickets sold out in less than 15 minutes. Responding to the huge demand, Bush said: "I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to the shows."
Tickets for the residency were originally priced from £49, but are now being offered online for as much as £1,500 on Viagogo and eBay, as touts rush to meet the demand of disappointed fans.
A spokesperson for Viagogo has said: "The lowest ticket price on the site is £795 and the highest is £1250. Just because a ticket is listed at a certain price, doesn’t mean it will sell for that much. There are unique events like this where demand and prices are very high."
Fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment over the price of the tickets on resale, whilst others are keen to point out that the tickets aren't necessarily being sold.

This Kate Bush reporting is irking me. If tickets are up for £1,500 on resale sites, that doesn't mean they are "selling". Means nothing.

The singer was just 20 years old when she completed her first, and until now only, tour in 1979, after having topped the charts the previous year with iconic song 'Wuthering Heights.'

Bush hasn't performed live since 'The Tour of Life' 35 years ago, explaining in a 2011 interview with Mojo magazine that: "It was enormously enjoyable, but physically it was absolutely exhausting."
Simon Presswell, managing director of Ticketmaster UK, said: "Despite playing 22 dates, demand has significantly exceeded the number of tickets available, so regrettably a number of fans will be left disappointed."
