David Bowie and Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig have teamed up to record a 'duet' of his classic 'Space Oddity'. Well, kinda...

The track was recorded for Wiig's new movie The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, with her rendition recorded at the iconic Electric Lady studio in New York. Little did she know however, that it would be overlaid with Bowie's original vocal to create a 'virtual duet'.

"I just found that out a couple of weeks ago - I guess they talked to him and it's now a duet on the soundtrack," Wiig told news.com.au. "It's so weird. I have to pinch myself."

She continued: "It was really fun recording that. I can't even describe it, just singing that song, it's David Bowie and I'm such a huge Bowie fan, it was intimidating...I've caught the bug now. I want to go on tour!"

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, starring Wiig alongside Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, will hit cinemas on 26 December, 2013.
