X Factor contestant Abi Alton was rushed to hospital last night (20 October, 2013) after plunging down a staircase during filming of the Sunday night show.
The singer, 19, was loaded onto an ambulance on a stretcher as a 'precautionary measure', a show source told the Mail Online.
"Abi was accompanied to hospital by her family," the source confirmed.
Alton is the second X Factor hopeful in a weekend to be whisked to A&E, after pregnant contestant SeSe Foster of group Miss Dynamix was taken to hospital before Saturday night's show after suffering a panic attack. Dramatic footage of the singer was shown to viewers on Saturday night's programme.
Before the incident, Abi Alton was seen making it through to next week's shows on the results show. After a sing-off with group Kingsland Road, over 25s category member Shelley Smith was given the boot.
