Ellie Goulding has this week scored her first ever UK No.1 single, beating the likes of Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey and Miley Cyrus to his the top spot with new single 'Burn'.
Goulding achieved her tenth top 40 UK single after shiftin an impressive 117,000 copies 'Burn' last week - 40,000 more copies than Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' which came in at No.2
"It means the world to me to be No.1 at the moment," she told the Official Charts Company. "It was always my dream to have a UK No.1 single, and it's been a long time coming! Thank you to everyone who bought Burn and everyone who has supported me over the last three years."
Taking to Twitter, the star added:
Number one. Fuck. First UK number one... Thank you to all the fans for supporting me THE WHOLE TIME, overwhelmed and so happy x

Elsehwere in the charts, Miley Cyrus has slipped to No.3 with 'We Can't Stop', Lana Del Rey is at No.4 with the Cedric Gervais remix of 'Summertime Sadness' and Lady Gaga completes the top five with 'Applause' after a week of publicity blitz around her return to music.

Meanwhile in the albums chart, Richard and Adam are at No.1 with The Impossible Dream, Rudimental rise to No.2 with Home, Imagine Dragons remain at No.3 with Night Visions and White Lies are the only new entry in the top five with BIG TV at No.4.
Passenger came in at No.5 with All The Little Lights.
