Sigur Ros are the latest in a near endless list of artists who have made an appearance in The Simpsons, and will star in an upcoming episode of the animated show.
The Icelandic superstars have composed a new piece of music for an upcoming show, in which characters from the show will reportedly travel to Iceland. The show has previously taken on Icelandic themes when it poked fun at the Icelandic bank crash in 2010. Character Carl Carlson is also of Icelandic ancestry.
Sigur Ros will appear in a future episode of The Simpsons, record music for the show and, according to Icelandic sources, record a cover of the theme tune with Danny Elfman.
Sigur Ros return in June 2013 with their seventh studio album, Kveikur, and recently premiered third new track 'Isjaki'. Listen below.
