The Cribs' frontman Ryan Jarman isn't about to join Kasabian and Jake Bugg in insulting One Direction - as he thinks it's too much of a cheap shot.

Jarman says that The Cribs don't have anything in common with One Direction, so he doesn't see the point in speaking about against them - despite the fact that One Direction won Worst Band at the NME Awards, while The Cribs won Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Talking about the X Factor boyband in an interview with Gigwise, Jarman says, "It's a strange fight to pick, for sure, you know, because it seems like a bit of a cheap shot, it seems like an easy target, so it's not something that I would do.

"I wouldn't particularly find them out because I wouldn't feel that I had any big rivalry with or anything in common with to begin with, you know - it seems very much like an easy target so I wouldn't do it."

He also added that One Direction are fans of the indie trio, continuing, "But the thing is, One Direction are fans of The Cribs, so they're good with me. I think that's cool.

"The fact that they're fans, I don't mind. I don't know anything about their band but it's cool by me."

One Direction seem to be finding themselves with a lot of support recently, as Hurts star Adam Anderson has also spoken out positively about the band.

Speaking to Gigwise, he said, "I think they seem like decent lads and they're having fun. If you were 19 and in their position then you would have fun. I think they should be left alone really. It's good for the equilibrium of pop to have boybands."

Jake Bugg, Kasabian and more - who isn't good with One Direction?

  • Van Halen: Bass player Wolfgang Van Halen hit out at the boyband on Twitter last night "Was just insulted by that sh**ty boy band #OneDirection in the lobby of our hotel this morning! Greetings Birmingham!" adding: "No joke. That ACTUALLY happened. That group of kids in #OneDirection were dickheads to @IIEROCKII @GWDrums and I."

  • Kasabian: Frontman Tom Meighan told Gigwise earlier in 2012: "It's frustrating when you see five little d*cks like that take over America, it's horrific but you've just got to get on with it. They're a boyband for God's sake and there will always be room for boybands."

  • Biffy Clyro: Speaking about their appearance at the iTunes festival this year, The Scottish band said; “We are so f**king excited to play the iTunes festival again. We had a killer time in 2010 and can't wait to rock it even harder this year. F*ck One Direction!”

  • Marina Diamandis: The Marina and the Diamonds singer said "I don't get One Direction... I live in a weird bubble where some stuff just doesn't touch me at all, even though they're massive. It might be that I don't like major chords in songs - I like menacing minor chords."

  • Paul Weller: The former Style Council man admitted "I've never heard 'em." but did say "You get some of these kids who think they're a little bit 'edgy', got a bit of a Pete Doherty haircut... You're not edgy, really, mate. Otherwise you wouldn't be on an effing talent show, would you?"

  • The Wanted: The reported feud has been going on for a while and although both bands deny the rift, sly digs like "Our new single 'I Found You' is a bit different. We like to mix it up. We try not to be stereotypical' from Tom Parker certainly add fuel to the fire.

  • Jake Bugg: But of course no one dislikes One Direction more than Bugg. The 'Lightning Bolt' star has revealed his anger at comparisons between 1D and The Beatles, criticised the boyband for not writing their own music and even called one of the boyband 'ugly'.

  • Noel Gallagher: We're actually amazed it took so long for a Gallagher to get around to bashing One Direction. Gallagher hit out at the X Factor boyband at the 2013 Ivor Novello Awards. When asked by NME why he attended the event, Gallagher said, "Because they don't let clowns like One Direction in, so it must be a good one."
