'He's not the monster everyone thinks'

Rihanna has defended her decision to get back together with boyfriend Chris Brown in an interview with the Mirror.

The ‘Diamonds’ singer says she can see why people think Brown hasn’t changed his ways but says he’s good at heart.

Explaining why she took him back after he was convicted of assaulting her ahead of the Grammys in 2009, Rihanna says: “It’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments any more. We talk about [stuff]. We value each other.”

Rihanna has recently been celebrating her 25th birthday with Brown on holiday in Hawaii.

She also said she’s aware of how he beau’s public action give a bad impression and suggests he hasn’t changed.

“I know it comes off like that, and it doesn’t help,” she said.

“For a long time he was really angry… there’s so many reasons why I ever reconsidered having him in my life. He’s not the monster everyone thinks. He’s a good person.

“He has a fantastic heart. He’s giving and loving. And he’s fun to be around. That’s what I love about him – he always makes me laugh.”

Chris Brown recently took to his now-private Instagram account to demand that people begin to respect him and understand how difficult his life can be.
