Bon Jovi is the first act confirmed to perform at this summer's Hyde Park series, it has been confirmed today.

The big-haired, eighties rock legends will perform in the central London park on 5 July. Tickets for the gig go on sale on Friday, 1 February 2013. The gig is part of the rockers' 2013 tour, which also includes dates in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Sunderland and Glasgow. Full dates are below.

The band are performing the first show in the Barclaycard British Summer Time event, which will see ten gigs take place between 28 June and 7 July, 2013. Gigs will take place in the central London park on 28, 29 and 30 June and 5, 6 and 7 July.

More shows taking place in Hyde Park are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and this announcement comes just days after it was revealed that major Hyde Park shows, Wireless and Hard Rock Calling would be moving to the Olympic Stadium in the summer of 2013 after a troubled season in 2012.

Wireless Festival and Hard Rock Calling are to take place at the Stratford venue this summer, following complaints of noise from nearby residents in 2012, plus a number of curfew issues which marred shows by the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Blur for many fans. Promoter Live Nation is working with the London Legacy Development Corporation on the move of live events.
