The coca cola adverts, advent calendars, Christmas parties, the excuse to eat until you're borderline morbidly obese...the run up to Christmas is great isn't it? Well no, not really according to Everything Everything.
The 'Man Alive' band, who are set to release their new album Arc in early 2013 have revealed themselves as big fans of Christmas event - but dislike the month long build up to the big day.
"Christmas itself is nice, it's just the run up is such a ball ache isn't it," the band told Gigwise. "There is no December, it's just Christmas!' When asked what they were looking forward to the most about the Christmas, seasonal traditions didn't quite make the top of their list:
'The fact that the album's a bit closer [to being released] and Christmas shopping being over, which will be signified by Christmas day, which means I will have made it! Christmas day is always a nice occasion, see some family...eat some cheese, you know how it goes! That's what I'm most looking forward to: cheese and wine.'
'Arc' is released on 14 January
The band, whose second album 'Arc' is release on 14 January, won't be indulging in any festivities when it comes to each other. Frontman John told us the band won't be getting each other Christmas presents, explaining 'I'm going to give these guys a mass period of me not being around as a gift!'
Everything Everything kick off their UK tour on 6 February at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms before moving to cities including Brighton, Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Dublin and Glasgow, and ending in Manchester on 22 February. Ticket are on sale now. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
