Future of the Left have been awarded the second annual Welsh Music prize.
The post-hardcore four-piece picked up the prize, which celebrates music by Welsh musicians or of Welsh origin, for their album The Plot Against Common Sense.
The awards are the brainchild of Radio 1 DJ, Huw Stephens, and shortlist twelve albums that have caught judges' eyes in 2012.
Future of the left were chose as recipients of the award at a ceremony held last night at Cardiff's Angel Hotel.
The four-piece, comprised of Andy Falkous, Jack Egglestone, Jimmy Watkins, and Julia Ruzicka, were delighted yet modest upon receiving the award.
They said: "Everybody says it but we really weren't expecting to win."

Other acts shortlisted included Los Campesinos! and Kids in Glass Houses. The 2011 awards were the first to be staged and were won by Super Furry Animals frontman, Gruff Rhys.
This year's victors described how receiving the award gave them a feeling of 'acceptance'.
"We're a naughty band made up of naughty people, but we're proud to create a piece of art. To get something like this makes you feel accepted.
"Thanks to the organisers and the judges."
The awards were presented by BBC Radio Wales DJ, Adam Walton. The panel of judges was made up of 12 industry experts including NME editor, Mike Williams.
A concert was also held at Clwb Ifor Bach, in Cardiff, to mark the ceremony. The bill contained eight of the shortlisted artists including Jodie Marie, Truckers of Husk, Exit International and Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog.
The awards also coincided with the beginning of Cardiff's four-day independent music festival, Swn Festival.
