Adam Lambert is rumoured to have insured his voice for £30 million.

The American Idol runner up is due to appear at a string of promotional appearances, and so does not want to take any risks.

A source told The Daily Mirror: "Insurance for stars is a big deal in the US and Adam's voice is his bacon. He had it insured last week."

The decision was apparently undertaken by Lambert's management, and is a huge amount to spend on insurance of vocal chords. For example, both Bruce Springsteen and Rod Stewart have insured their voices - but only for $6 million, as opposed to the $47 million spent on Lambert.

The 30-year-old singer has been busy lately. After touring with Queen over the summer, including a date in London, he visited New York Fashion Week and also tried his hand at acting. Lambert is due to appear in a Halloween episode of the US TV show 'Pretty Little Liars.'

He also appeared on 'The Voice of China' on Sunday, performing to a TV audience of over half a billion viewers, has said on Twitter that he will tour in support of his 'Trespassing' record "when the time is right."

And let's not forget the recent live show in Australia, during which he covered Bob Marley's 'Is This Love.'
