The three members of Pussy Riot currently on trial have allegedly been deprived of food and sleep during their trial.

Maria Alyokhina collapsed in court and medics were called in after the group complained that they were not being fed for periods of more than 12 hours.

Alyokhina told the court on Monday evening that "my head is spinning," as the hearing went on to almost 10pm.

The defence lawyers have complained to the judge that the Pussy Riot members are being woken up at 5am and not fed all day.

Defence attorney Nikolai Polozov said to the Interfax news agency: “They are brought back to their temporary detention centre after midnight, are left without dinner and can only get a few hours of sleep.”

More musicians, including Pete Townshend and Jarvis Cocker, have recently spoken out about their support.
