Madonna last night completed a successful show in London's Hyde Park but her 1 August gig in Poland is under threat after protests against her Warsaw appearance by the country's Catholic youth crusade.

The group is protesting the show becasue it coincides with the city's annual World War II commemoration event, which marks the 1944 Warsaw Uprising against the Nazi occupiers. 31,000 people have so far signed an online petition calling for the show to be cancelled.

"August 1 is a day of remembrance in Poland. We pay our respects to those who survived and those who perished in the uprising. We won't allow the desecration of our hallowed symbols," say the group in the online petition against the August performance.

The petition also hits out at her anti-Catholic antics on stage, claiming the star is: "attacking the Catholic faith... offending Jesus Christ by burning crosses and wearing a crown of thorns." She is also accused of promoting homosexuality and pornography.

Madonna has previously caused controversy on her MDNA world tour by flashing her breast, her bum and is also facing legal action after her performance included a video showing France's National Front leader Marine Le Pen with a Nazi swastika on her forehead.
