Tom Clarke of The Enemy has said that he does not care about the UK Charts, after his band tried and failed to reach number one last week.
The Coventry band spent much of last week urging their fans to buy their third album 'Streets In The Sky' and even reduced the price to just £3.99 in a bid to hit the top spot. However, the plot ultimately failed with the album charting at number nine with Emeli Sande returning to number one.
Speaking to The Sun about his feelings for the Official Album Chart in the UK, Clarke claimed that it was like 'The Wild West', saying: "Kind of whatever to the charts, it's full of shit anyway. We took time off and we knew we were coming back into a completely different marketplace. It's the wild west at the moment, it could do anything."
Adding: "The UK music chart at the moment is who's got the biggest bank. We all know Simon Cowell has, if you've got X Factor TV money to put behind it, it's a bonus."
Meanwhile, The Enemy recently had to reschedule a couple of homecoming shows in Coventry amidst health and safety fears.
