Cheryl Cole's intellect has been criticised by Simon Cowell's unauthorist biographer. So it's just as well she has other talents and assets to fall back on...
Writer Tom Bower, who wrote book The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell spoke of the time he spent with Cheryl during her short-lived stint as a judge on US X Factor in 2011.
"I was sitting next to Simon the whole time during The X Factor US last year and I immediately knew that Cheryl Cole wasn't working," says Bower in an interview with The Metro. "I'd sit with Cheryl at mealtimes and, in my opinion, her real problem is she's not very intelligent."
Cheryl wasn't the worst part of US X Factor's line-up in Bower's opinion, recalling a conversation with Simon Cowell about her, and fellow Brit Steve Jone's roles on the show.
"I flew with him from LA to New York and even before that he'd asked me what I thought about her and I'd said, 'She's not working and Steve Jones is even worse'," added the writer. "He was determined to make it work, but I had my doubts."
Cheryl Cole recently premiered her new video, 'Call My Name'. Watch it below.
