Adele favourite for James Bond theme

Movie fans vote for soul star ahead of the likes of Muse and Foo Fighters

Adele would be the perfect choice to sing the theme tune on the next James Bond film, according to movie fans.

The singer beat the likes of Muse and Foo Fighters when she came out top in a recent poll conducted by by entertainment website IGN.com.

Other contenders included U2, Florence And The Machine, Arctic Monkeys and Lana Del Rey.

Skyfall is set to open in cinemas on October 23, with Londoners recently tweeting that they had caught a sneak preview of filming in Greenwich.

The film stars Daniel Craig in his third outing as Bond and is directed by Sam Mendes of American Beauty fame.

Rita Coolidge: 'All Time High' (Octopussy, 1983) – Written by John Barry and Andrew Lloyd Webber's chum Tim Rice, 'All Time High', is in our opinion one of the direst and cheesiest James Bond theme. Unsurprisingly it was the least successful Bond song of all time, charting at a mere number 75 in the UK charts. Coolidge herself said she did not like the song complaining it was hastily put together and unfinished.
