Justin Bieber Fans Attack Ricky Gervais Over Twitter

Ricky Gervais certainly isn't the most popular man around at the moment following last weekend's Golden Globes.

 The comedian hosted the awards for the third time on Sunday night (January 15) offending a few of the stars in the audience.

During his opening speech at the star-studded ceremony, Gervais made a joke about the Bieber's recent paternity claims

He told the crowd: "Justin Bieber nearly had to take a paternity test. What a waste of a test that would have been,

"No, he's not the father. The only way that he could have impregnated a girl was if he borrowed one of Martha Stewart's old turkey basters."

A number of Bieber fans didn't take to well to the joke, one tweeted: "Ricky Gervais. I hate you. I love Justin Bieber!! do not mess with justin i kill you."

Another posted: "You dont know what your talking bout justin bieber, your a mean t**t, you dont know naffing."

Gervais responded with: "Getting out of town now. Bieber fans aren’t happy with me. That’s some scary sh** Ha ha. Bye LA. hello NY!"

The Artist and The Descendants dominated this year's Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.

The acclaimed silent movie 'The Artist' was named Best Musical Or Comedy, while George Clooney's role in  The Descendants saw him pick up Best Actor Award.
