Zooey Deschanel: Girls Used To Spit In My Face

Zooey Deschanel has spoken out about how she was bullied at school.

The 31-year-old actress/singer, who is part of duo She & Him, said she wasn't very popular whilst growing up.

In an interview with Allure magazione, she said: ''Girls [would] spit in my face. People were so mean to me, I'd cry every day.'

She added: I can't go on Gawker. 'I actually think the writing is really funny but there is a chance that somebody is undercutting me

Last month Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard following their split last year.

The actress filed for divorce on December 27 2011 with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The pair – who tied the knot in December 2009 – decided to part ways after two years of marriage due to 'irreconcilable differences".
