Warner Bros are said to be "scared to death" by the fact that people can barely understand a word Bane says in The Dark Knight Rises.
Despite much praise for the special IMAX trailer that will air before Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, there was much criticism for how difficult it was to hear Tom Hardy's villain - mainly due to the mask he wears throughout the film.
Sources close to the film say that Warners are well aware of the issue, but are "scared to death [about the] Bane problem", the Hollywood Reporter says.
An executive said: "Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn't dumb things down. You've got to pedal faster to keep up."
The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20, 2012.
