Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor has picked up a Golden Globe nomination for his soundtrack to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
However, competition for Best Original Score is set to be fierce, as he and partner Atticus Ross find themselves up against Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, and a War Horse score by the legendary movie composer John Williams.
This is the second year in succession that Reznor has found himself on the verge of winning the prestigious award - 2010 saw him walk off with a Golden Globe for his music on The Social Network, which also landed him an Oscar.
The ceremony, to be hosted by Ricky Gervais for a third year running, takes place in Los Angeles on January 15, 2012.
