The BBC has announced that it has cancelled panel show Shooting Stars, just shy of its twentieth anniversary.
The programme, hosted by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, is a victim of massive cuts being implemented by the corporation, as was announced earlier this year.
A BBC spokesperson said in a statement: "In future there will be less space on BBC2 for comedy/entertainment panel shows.
"So sadly Shooting Stars won't be returning. We'd like to thank Vic and Bob for everything they've brought to the channel over the years."
Mortimer had earlier tweeted: "BBC have just cancelled shooting stars."
First aired in 1993, the show's original run lasted for four years, before returning in 2009, where it had acheived success, attracting between 1 and 1.5 million viewers per episode.
