Noel Gallagher has revealed that a number of Manchester United players snubbed his homecoming gig earlier this week due to the teams defeat against Manchester City last weekend (October 23).
The singer played a sold-out show at the Manchester Apollo on Wednesday (26) as part of current UK tour.
In an interview with the Sun, Gallagher said that three unnamed Manchester United players had requested tickets to the show, but failed to show up following their 6-1 humiliating lose to Manchester City on Sunday.
Gallagher explained to the paper that they had been "bang up for it" before the game.
''One of them mysteriously developed 'food poisoning,' another one had 'forgot it was half-term' – whatever that means. Then just to add insult to injury the last, and probably most famous of all the dirty Reds, sez, 'Something's come up and I have to deal with it.''
He added: "Something's come up? What? Like a bit of sick that's been in there since Sunday."
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds tour continues tonight (October 29) at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
Tickets are on sale now. For more details and to buy Noel Gallagher tickets, check out Gigwise Gig Tickets.
