Adele has revealed that she recently turned down a move to the US, as she loves London too much.
The singer, who has had huge success over in the US with second album '21', said she was asked by record bosses to relocate to California.
Speaking to The Sun, Adele said: I am a London girl through and through. I felt very uncomfortable in Malibu. I felt at home with my producer Rick Rubin and the studio was incredible, but it's not my kind of area.
Adding: "Everyone lives behind a gate as they have so much money they don't leave. It was a very surreal experience. I'm from a pretty rough area in London, so working in Malibu was a dream – but then I got brought back down to earth."
Meanwhile, Adele leads the way for nominations at this year’s American Music Awards.
The London singer has been nominated for Artist Of The Year, Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Adult Contemporary Artist and Favourite Album for ‘21’.
