Matt Reeves has been chosen by Warner Bros. to direct the movie remake of The Twilight Zone.
Deadline reports that the Cloverfield director has been handpicked by the studio to direct a feature length adaptation of Rod Serling's classic sci-fi show that originally ran from 1958 to 1964.
It had previously been reported that both Batman helmer Christopher Nolan and Transformers' Michael Bay were in the running for the job.
The film is to be produced by Appian Way, which is run by Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Ireland and Leonardo DiCaprio, with a script written by Jason Rothenburg.
Filming on The Twilight Zone is expected to commence in summer 2012.
