Madonna's publicist has said tour dates which alleged outlined the singer's plans in 2012 are fake.
The dates came from a hoax press release claiming to have been created by Madonna's promotion company, Live Nation, which was posted on one of her fansites.
It said the singer was set to embark on her tour in New Zealand next March.
But Madonna's spokesperson Liz Rosenberg said the information was false, but did confirm that the singer intended to release her new album in spring 2012.
Madonna has realigned herself with producer William Orbit for the project.
