Transfers, stats to be updated upon game's release...

Konami have announced that a DLC for PES 2012 will be released to coincide with the game's release.

The main aspect of the DLC will be to update team squads following the closing of the transfer window at the end of August, meaning Scott Parker will be adding steel and determination to the Spurs midfield, while Mikel Arteta struggles to fill  the Sesc Fabregas-sized hole at Arsenal.

It will also update player's statistics and include a number of new kits.

A representative for Konami told IncGamers: "In total 160 clubs will be updated, with hundreds of players benefiting from more realistic stats and abilities that are tailored to their real-life playing style."

Early reviews of PES 2012 have been very positive, but it will still struggle to compete with the earlier-released FIFA 12, which is already being considered as an all-time classic football sim.

PES 2012 is released on XBox 3760, PS3 and PC on October 14.
