Michael Jackson was clinically dead when he arrived at hospital, a jury has heard.
Two emergency room doctors said they were asked to resuscitate Jackson by his doctor Conrad Murray, despite believing the star only had a remote chance of survival.
Dr Thao Nguyen told the court at the trial of Dr Murray, who is charged with the late singer's involuntary manslaughter, that Jackson's physician “sounded desperate”.
She also said that Dr Murray had no idea how long Jackson had not been breathing for because he had no watch, reports BBC News.
Prosecutors claim Dr Murray administered a lethal dose of propofol that killed the singer at his home in June 2009.
His defence claims Jackson gave himself the drug.
Dr Murray, who has pleaded not guilty, faces up to four years in prison if convicted. The trial continues.
