Cheryl Cole has spoken about her recent trip to Afghanistan and revealed she was given extensive training before the trip.
Cole visited Camp Bastion in the Helmand province earlier this month to meet-up with soliders, sailors and those wounded in action.
The Girls Aloud star and former X Factor judge said she was given a number of “scary” warnings before she left, but that “nothing” would stop her from embarking on the trip," she told the Daily Mirror.
“Before I went out I was given war training which was pretty full-on and quite scary. They warn you about coping with all kinds of scary scenarios – things like having a gun put to your head.
“I was warned before I went out there that it could be dangerous. But nothing was going to stop me from going. And I’m just so glad I did.”
She added: “Afghanistan was an unbelievable experience. The whole trip was incredible.”
Cole is currently recording her third studio album, which is due to be released next year.
