Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has said he wasn't shocked by the recent riots in London.
The disruption, which caused millions of pounds worth of damage, also spread to cities across England.
The singer said said rioting was part of British life and that that he didn't expect the form of frustration to disappear.
I was in London for the riots. I was kind of surprised that people were shocked it happened,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“There's no warning, but it's a regular feature of English urban life if you think about it. Every ten years you get some riots.
Jagger added: "Riots like that have been a feature of Britain for 200 years or so and we like to congratulate ourselves that it has gone away. But the reality is that they haven't have they?"
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jagger also spoke about The Rolling Stones' plans to celebrate their 50th anniversary next year during the interview.
