Elton John has started preparing for a musical biopic about his life, to be titled Rocketman.
John and partner David Furnish have teamed up with playwright Lee Hall to create the movie.
Furnish will produce alongside Steve Hamilton, with John taking on an executive producer's role.
Hamilton said in a statement: "Rocketman will be a radically different kind of biopic. It will be as unique as Elton's life, told in a non-linear and hyper-visual manner that will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man."
Songs such as Your Song, Candle in the Wind and Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word will feature, although a director has yet to be found.
The producers have also started thinking about lead actors, although it is believed James McAvoy is the preferred choice to portray the singer, who was born Reg Dwight in 1947.
