French producer DJ Mehdi has died at the age of 34.
DJ Mehdi, real name Mehdi Favéris-Essadi, worked with the likes of Chromeo, Daft Punk and Cassius.
Details of his death first surfaced after DJ Cut Killer expressed his “sorrow” on Twitter, adding: “Rest in peace fréro.”
Chromeo, the production duo who worked with DJ Mehdi on the song 'I Am Somebody', also wrote on the micro-blogging website: “We lost our brother. No words.”
Rapper Drake also paid tribute on Twitter with the message: “Damn...RIP MEHDI.”
His record label Ed Banger have yet to comment.
