Lily Allen has spoken about the recent death of Amy Winehouse, saying that could have been her.
The singer, who is expecting her first child with husband Sam Cooper, said she's glad she got out of the 'madness' of the music scene.
"I've had nights out with Amy and know exactly what used to go on. It's so easy to get caught up in that madness. I've been strong enough to walk away,'' Allen told The Sun.
She added: "When Amy died, I got several texts from friends saying they were really glad I was still here, that I hadn't died too. Her death almost didn't seem real. Amy had become a cartoon character of herself."
Meanwhile, The Amy Winehouse Foundation will launch on September 14, which also would have been her birthday, the late singer's father Mitch has announced.
