Take That singer Gary Barlow has written Matt Cardle's new single, 'Run For Your Life', it has been revealed.
Cardle, who won last year's X Factor, was close to finishing his new album when Barlow sent the track to his A&R man, Chris Briggs.
"I'd been trying to write a song like that for a long, long time, probably five or six years,” Cardle told The Sun. “As soon as I heard it I just felt the song was mine. Lyrically it's about not being good enough for the person you're with.
"I know exactly what that's like. I was nearly in tears recording the vocals."
Barlow, who is about to take up the judging role on the new series of The X Factor, said the song was the perfect fit for Cardle's vocals.
Cardle's debut album ‘The Letters’ is released in October.
