White Lies played "one of their best shows ever" as they closed this year's Sziget Festival in Budapest.
The British band played a career-spanning headline set on the main stage, drawing songs from their two albums: 'To Lose My Life' and 'Ritual'.
Obviously aware of their high billing, the band repeatedly paid tribute to the Hungarian crowd, who had turned out in force to watch.
'It's a pleasure and an honor to play this festival in this slot," singer Harry McVeigh said, as the group launched into 'Death'.
White Lies set also included 'Farewell To The Fairground', 'To Lose My Life' and a euphoric rendition of 'Bigger Than Us', which closed their set.
White Lies were preceded on stage by Manic Street Preachers, who delivered a hit-packed set, despite attracting a relatively small crowd.
The highlight of their set was a dedication to their late bandmate, Richey Edwards. "Richie would have loved it here," Nicky Wire told the crowd.
After being given the 'sunset slot', The National played a fittingly enchanting set on the main stage.
Clearly happy to be playing their first gig in Hungary, their performance included the songs 'Apartment Story', 'England', 'Bloodbuzz Ohio' and 'Mistaken For Strangers'.
The main stage also featured a performance from Gogol Bordello, who attracted one of the biggest audience of the day.
This year’s sun-soaked Sziget festival marked the 19th staging of the event, which this year attracted nearly 400,000 festival-goers.
Entertainment took place across six major stages and, as well as live music, fans were treated to entertainment, cultural festivities and local food.
