Kings Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill has spoken for the first time since the band axed their US tour to allow him to recover from voice problems and exhaustion.
The group's decision to cancel the remainder of their jaunt came after Followill walked off stage at a gig in Dallas.
Speaking to TMZ in New York, Followill said: “I'm just trying to get better.”
When asked why he walked off stage, the singer blamed his voice, adding: “It's pretty messed up.”
There has been speculation among the band's fans that Followill appeared drunk at the gig and that relations between the rest of the group appeared tense.
US Weekly has reported that Followill's bandmates have urged him to go into rehab.
Kings Of Leon cancelled a total of 28 dates, including the recently rescheduled Dallas gig and another in Houston.
A statement from the band said: "We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are cancelling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion.''
