Freddy Krueger Added To Mortal Kombat

Warner Bros. have announced that Freddy Krueger will be added to Mortal Kombat as a downloadable character.

The Nightmare on Elm Street murderer will be based on the 2010 remake, rather than the 1980's Robert Englund original, IGN reports.

Freddy, cald in red and white hooped jumper and hat, will have his own methods of dispataching each character, in addition to his trademark claws.

Freddy is the fourth downloadable Mortal Kombat character, following Scarlet, Kenshi and Rain.

He will be available on both the PS3 and XBox 360 from August 9.
