Katy Perry has said she is “so excited” about securing nine nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) – but is also sad that some other artists have missed out.
Perry is shortlisted for all the major honours, including Best Female Video and Video Of The Year.
But on Twitter today (July 21), she paid tribute to videos by some of her female contemporaries that missed out on nods.
“Do miss my RiRi, (s&m) Swifty, (back to dec) Kesha (blow) & Robyn (every vid!) Jessie J, (pricetag) in the/any categories #ohmanitstough,” she said.
Speaking about her own success, Perry added: “I can't sleep...I'm so excited... It feels like every birthday/christmas/first kiss I ever had. Thanks so much for believing in me. I owe u.”
