The Dark Knight Rises: The Batmobile Revealed

An eagle-eyed Batfan has managed to snap the new Batmoblie as it arrived to The Dark Knight Rises' Pittsburgh set.

Carried on top of a transporter, the image showed Batman's replacement car and - hidden by tarpaulin - Batpod, Superhero Hype reports.

After getting destroyed in The Dark Knight, hopes had been high for a newly-designed Batmobile to close out Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy in style.

Sadly, it appears that Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox went back to the original blueprint, for the new Batmobile is exactly the same as the last one.

A Gotham City SWAT van was also spotted, although this vehicle had already been seen when Batman hit London's Smithfield market last month.

The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20, 2012.
