PJ Harvey is the favourite to win this year's Mercury Prize for her album, 'Let England Shake'.
The nominations for this year's award is due to be announced on Tuesday (July 19).
Bookmakers William Hill have made PJ Harvey the 4/1 favourite, with Adele's '21' at 5/1.
Wild Beasts are 7/1 for 'Smother; James Blake and Anna Calvi are both 8/1 and The Horrors are 10/1.
Spokesman Joe Crilly told Gigwise: “The past year has been fantastic for British music, with Adele really setting the benchmark, but we believe PJ Harvey has the slight edge and is leading the market. But with a number of big names in the running, it is guaranteed to be a close one this year.”
Radiohead, Tinie Tempah, Elbow and Hurts are all possible contenders.
Check back to Gigwise next Tuesday for the announcement.
