Paul McCartney has revealed that he was told by his management to retire at 50.
The 69-year-old singer said that he didn't take the suggestion too well and parted with his former manager soon after.
"One of my old guys who I used to have as my manager, I was knocking 50 and he said 'I think it's time you retired'. I thought, I know what you mean, but I don't really feel like it, you know,'' McCartney told Mojo.

He added: "And if I'm really enjoying this, why retire? So I decided against it, and got rid of him. I wonder what he thinks today. Perhaps that he was right, but hopefully not."
Meanwhile, Sir Paul McCartney has teamed up with award-winning surf filmmaker Jack McCoy for the music video to his previously unreleased track, 'Blue Sway'.
