A DJ has been awarded nearly $1.2million by a New York jury over the use of a sample which appeared in Black Eyed Peas' 'My Humps'.
Orrin Lynn Tolliver, Jr launched a lawsuit after a former friend allowed his 1983 song 'I Need A Freak' to be used without permission.
The DJ, who was also formely a rap artist, was awarded the damages following a case in New York, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
'My Humps' was one of the main singles taken from Black Eyed Peas 2005 album 'Monkey Business'.
