Star Trek 2 is facing a six month delay in releasing, meaning that fans will have to wait until December 2012 for the next installment of JJ Abram's reboot.
The sequel to the 2009 hit was due out on June 29th next year, but with a still incomplete script, the decision will be taken to put back the release date.
It was thought by executives at Paramount that the thirteen month schedule was too short a period of time to produce the highly anticipated film, according to Deadline.com.
Meanwhile, actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura, recently expressed her desire to see the Romulans feature more prominently, telling Bang! Showbiz, "I can maybe tell you what I'd like to see happen. For Spock and Uhura to really hook up. Or to get to do whatever physical activities. Kick some butt, some Romulan butt."
